We live today in the information age in which it is created, transmitted or stored constantly in huge quantities and all handled by electronic equipment that are electric power supplied. The electric power supply also depends on many other devices we have in our homes, whether for business or for fun. It follows that having a stable and flawless electric power, is a factor of major importance for the good functioning of all equipment.
All electronic equipment should be powered by perfect sine wave mains and always with an effective nominal voltage, without any distortion or electrical noise. The reality however is quite different – surges, sometimes of thousands of volts, variable nominal voltage, electrical noise caused by switching on/off electric motors or by lightning storms. All this can cause electronic devices to change its electrical characteristics or malfunctions. From the problems above mentioned, one part is the responsibility of the energy supplier – cuts, brownouts and surges, and the others – pulses and noise – depending on the quality of the electrical installation.
1. Unnecessary Greenhouse gas emission which results from inefficient light bulbs and this contributes to climatic change. The Greenhouse gas traps heat and make the planet warmer. The planet being warm is due to human activities. Some human activities include burning fossil fuels for electricity, heat and transportation.
2. Unnecessary exorbitant electricity bills for people and the government through inefficient light bulbs.
IMPORTANCE OF LED
● Use less energy than incandescent bulbs
● Cost less than LED light bulbs
● Produce extremely bright light that spreads evenly
● Available in soft, warm, and bright white hues
DISADVANTAGES
●They cannot be used with a dimmer switch
●They take a few moments to heat up and reach full brightness
●They contain mercury, a toxic heavy metal
●They can be sensitive to cold temperatures
All these problems are potential causes of failures that occur in electronic equipment. There are several types of devices that can prevent some of these problems. Among the most commonly used can highlight stabilizers, transformers for galvanic isolation, mains filters and UPS. Stabilizers are used to correct the deviation, (brownout and over voltage) of the supply voltage relative to its nominal value. Transformers for galvanic isolation can transfer energy between two points without connecting wire, thus preventing noise being transmitted between the network input and output to the load. Mains filters provide protection against transients and electromagnetic interference (noise produced by some electrical and electronic equipment when in operation).
Terawatt will help to fix the problem of inefficient lighting by driving Light Emission Diode adoption.

SOLUTION
Significant upfront costs to upgrade to LEDs for businesses and consumers, and also, electrical grids get overloaded as electricity consumption continues to grow with the population as well as our increased reliance on electricity. This is likely to continue to become an even greater issue as more electric vehicles hit the market. To meet this demand power/utility companies have to build expensive additional power plants (hundreds of millions of dollars). OR, what they are doing is incentivizing their customers to upgrade to LED lighting, (and other energy efficient appliances, devices, building methods)
Power companies are even encouraging their customers to consider solar panels or provide their own electricity somehow. Sounds counter-intuitive right? It makes sense though when you realize how expensive it is to build and maintain a new power plant versus just having your customers change their light bulbs. Also, in the US, power companies are mandated by the EPA to incentivize the changeover from CFL’s to all LED because CFLs contain mercury! Most people do not recycle them either because it’s easier to just throw them in the trash.
